Hotel Grinnell Downtown, an Ascend Collection Hotel
It was really cold, and I didn’t realize I needed to use a space heater. It was tucked away in the room and no one mentioned that there was no central heat. Also very loud and echoey, as you’d imagine from an elementary school. But it was really interesting architecturally.

Comfort Inn & Suites Grinnell near I-80
The room was clean. The staff were very nice, especially Larry. The pool area was clean and always stocked with towels. There were some crumbs in the pull out bed and a stain on the mattress. Our main complaint is that the breakfast food was not great. It was very low quality.

The front desk attendant was friendly but that’s where the positives end. First floor smelled like smoke and pot. The ice maker was broken and created a massive floor puddle right in front of the door to get in the vestibule. The room condition was poor. If it wasn’t after 10PM when we got there, ...
