Stepped up when things went wrong

We’ve stayed at Mount View several times because we love the downtown location, the classy old rooms, service and pool area. This time we discovered what a class act they are. On day 2 of a 2 night stay we returned to a room where the bed was soaked from a water leak in the room above us. The room was unusable and they had no other rooms other than a tiny bunk bed room they use for emergencies. Fortunately that room was across the hall from our wet room. The manager immediately offered to comp that night and give us the bunk room to sleep in. We were able to keep all our stuff in the first room negating the need to pack up everything. On top of that he left us a beautiful bottle of wine to take to dinner. You can really tell how good or bad any company is when you see how they react when things go wrong. Mount View definitely did right by us in an unfortunate situation.

Calistoga Gem

Great location, we stayed for the weekend and attended Havana Nights at the Castle. Love the old building and the B&B style service. Bed was very comfortable and room was quaint. Loved the 24 hr pool and hot tub! Only concern was the doors wouldn’t close securely, both room door and bathroom door.

It was a quaint little hotel. My only suggestion is to notify the quests upon check in that room service is available upon request only. I wondered why we didn’t get any clean towels or trash service. I just happened to open an envelope I received at check in to find out

I loved this hotel! Lovely room, comfortable bed perfect location. Calistoga is such a cute little town we enjoyed our stay, and will plan to stay longer next time. I will say that the claw foot tub/shower combo was a bit uncomfortable in that the plastic shower curtain was so "bunchy" that it was difficult to keep it from touching you while you showered. Maybe they could cut the plastic panel a bit to stretch it out? I liked the bath products used--great smelling! The hot springs tub was closed for repairs, which was unfortunate. But the bottle of wine as a consolation prize was well done!

My husband and I enjoyed a 3-night stay at this gem of a hotel! It is conveniently located with loads of great cafes, shops, and tasting rooms within walking distance and wineries just a short drive away. The hotel itself has a vintage-heritage feel to it, and the rooms and bathrooms are well maintained. Staff were super friendly and hospitable and the daily breakfast was delivered right to our door! The bed was comfortable, however the pillows were quite flat with no neck support. Other than that, it was a wonderful stay!

In general, it is quite good to relax for a couple of days, swim in the pool and sit in the jacuzzi. The service staff is top notch. But there are some small nuances that would make this hotel more convenient. For example, the TV. As it turned out, it is not smart, which means you cannot turn on YouTube or link your cellphone. You can only watch old movies through DirectTV. There is no bar near the pool where you can order a morning cocktail. The nearest bars that are not part of the hotel open only at 3-4 pm. That is, you will not drink a morning Bloody Mary. Coffee is a separate song. I do not know what this disgusting, smelly drink is made of, but it is definitely not from coffee beans. True, one block from the hotel they make really decent coffee. I agree, completely ideal; there are no such hotels. But in general, this hotel leaves a good impression.

The staff was amazing! Manny went above and beyond to make us feel at home. The location was convenient to many places, the 24 hr pool was exactly what we needed and there was an outdoor theater next door playing great movies. The rooms featured an espresso machine in addition to breads and coffee delivered to the room every morning. Could not have asked for a better Napa Valley experience! Will definitely be back!

We’ve stayed here a few times over the years and enjoyed it, but this property has gone downhill. The beds are comfortable and the AC is great, but the place needs some love. And the pool area has been totally forgotten about- bad loungers, weeds surrounding the hot tub that hasn’t seen much maintenance over the years, rusted planters/walls and no pool service at all. Even on a holiday weekend. Sad excuse for a “continental” breakfast, too. It seems management has just stopped caring about this property. Also, they have NO parking.
