On the whole a good stay in a great location for the Natural History & Science museums. We booked a family room & felt rather mislead as the photos clearly showed a double & two separate sofa / pull out beds. We booked this hotel for this specific reason as one of our children is autistic & cannot cope sharing a bed. We arrived at the hotel at 10.30am to leave our bag. We mentioned needing separate beds for the children. The member of staff we spoke to said he couldn’t promise but would do his best & if he couldn’t get that room we could have either an inter connecting or two twins. We went out for the day & got back mid / late evening. We got to our room to find one double sofa bed & a king. Our children were exhausted so didn’t want us to try & move rooms again but this was annoying. The sofa bed was awful, you could feel every spring & each time one of the children moved the whole bed squeaked. The tea / coffee hadn’t been re-stocked so no milk or sugar. Small things but not great. King size bed was comfortable with nice pillows / duvet & bathroom had a good shower. Breakfast was buffet style & a fair price & good quality. We probably wouldn’t stay again as the bed situation didn’t meet our needs but it’s a good hotel otherwise.

The Georgian/early Victorian style being retained gives the hotel a grand and comfortable feel. One can feel somewhat pampered in of the public areas especially. Breakfast is a delight, really can set oneself up for the day and at a reasonable price. Bathroom in family room was inadequate but I would stay again but want a different room.

The AC was not working at all and the bathroom was a bit dirty. Even the shower shampoo and conditioner was so difficult to get out. I believe that for such a steep price in the Kensington area and a name brand hotel, your AC should at the very least work. If it does not then that room should not be given out to people at all.

The hotel itself is very good, location is great for getting about, plenty of good places to eat and drink nearby. Staff are very friendly and want you to enjoy your stay with them. The restaurant where breakfast was served was cold a few days, it was the aircon set way to cold. we did tell them but that was the only issue I had. The food served for breakfast was very good, good quality produce used. Have been a few times now and would definitely be back.

Very attentive staff throughout: our check-in receptionist (trainee) was wonderful, and yu wouldn’t have known she was a trainee due to her wonderful service and pleasant attitude. Housekeeping, bar, and breakfast staff were all also wonderful. Hotel is in older buildings so some corridors were a bit tight, but our room was tall and airy with air conditioning. Even though the hotel might seem to be showing its age slightly, and could do with a little refresh, it’s not falling apart, run down or otherwise inferior. Not as many amenities, but a perfectly amiable stay. Would happily stay again!

Our room was not as pictured we had to go up in an elevator and then down a flight of stairs to get to our room where the bathroom was located five steps down from the sleeping area….the bathroom was 3 feet wide and maybe 5 feet long a person could barely turn around….i am sure there are better rooms but this family room was not good at all

A break away, event at the Royal Albert Hall

This hotel's hospitality was a real disappointment. We arrived my room was ready my friends was not we were told 15 mins. We went out and after three hours it still was not ready and then she was put over the other side of the hotel from myself. My room the air con was broken which was reported and we were given false information about the avavilbility of food after restaurant hours by the concierge. No food is availble at all after 10pm not even the advertised room service for a sandwich so we did not eat. Check out was uncomfortable for my friend as we went to breakfast and her room was cleaned, bottles of water thrown out prior to her checking out even though her cases were still in the room. Hotel was a lovely place, well situated for the Royal Albert Hall. Hospitality was terrrible. No one appeared interested when we complained.

The location is perfect, which is why I took it. However, I was in a tiny single with no reading light and only one electrical socket located by the bathroom door, which made it difficult to charge my phone and impossible to use the kettle, coffee machine or iron that were in the cupboard. In addition, the air conditioning unit made a constant gurgling sound. I reported these things to the front desk after the first evening, but nothing was done.

Fabulous breakfast choices with many options, both hot and cold, including scrambled egg. Noting the plant based ‘milks’ including oat, I asked whether I could have scrambled egg with oat drink as I cannot tolerate cows milk. This was refuses though eventually asking the ‘right’ questions I was offered an omelette which was lovely and I supplemented it with some goats cheese which I bought with me.
