I loved the location being so close to Paddington Station and walkable to Hyde Park. The beds were comfortable and the hotel very quiet. Only negative was the shower. It was impossible to shower without wetting my hair. Slight inconvenience. Otherwise all good.
You could tell it was a very old building (by Canadian standards) but was well taken care of. The halls were very narrow and the lift was tiny which didn't quite go to the floor we were on and all that made it difficult to navigate our bags to the room. Location was great, a few blocks to Paddington station and a quick walk to Hyde Park. The shower was very small with a very large shower head that was comical in proportions.
Both woke up the next morning covered in bites, so i would assume there was some sort of issue with Bed Bugs. Nothing else really needs a mention beyond that.
Friendly at check in - close to station so was great for us.
room size on first appearance very small for two adults. Hardly any room to move.
Place smelled nice.
Very noisy once we got back to hotel room that evening 8 pm from room above us. We were tired and continuous banging from upstairs room. Made our mirror on the wall vibrate from the banging sounded like they were jumping off the bed?? floor above. Not the quiet relaxing hotel experience we were wanting of course we expect some noise but I think all guests should be told to respect others as some don’t understand that!
We were both exhausted & cut our trip short I did tell reception, as noise started up again early morning. It was just a noisy hotel for us.
Great area, close to train stations, good pubs and plenty of shops

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Second time within a month to stay in this hotel. A larger room with a double bed (hooray). Alas, it was in the basement and did not have a window. The room smelled quite badly and I asked (and got) a change of room. Also in the basement. Such a tiny shower - the shower head was huge and couldn't be directed away from the body to soap oneself. Turning around involved shuffling , no way to step and turn. The floor of the shower was VERY slippery - I ended up wearing flip-flops to shower. A comfortable room overall. Would I stay here again? Only if the room wasn't in the basement.
The room: I thought I'd booked a double but it was a single. Oh no. Okay that was either Expedia's (annoying app) or my fault. Like all budget hotels the facilities were basic but comfortable. No suitable place to put an empty suitcase. Otherwise acceptable if small accommodation. Would I book again? Yes. In fact I did at the end of the month for 2 more days.

Cheap but ok
This is very basic. Cheap but very basic. Single room was clean and of an acceptable standard. The road was noisy due to no double glazing and the extractor fan was permanently on

Very bad no proper water not good shower very bad bed vest the money
Excellent stay as always. The double room was smaller than last time but perfectly comfortable.
Reception were incredibly helpful. Tea, coffee, hairdryer, toiletries and towels all provided.
Will definitely stay again.
We were in the basement, which we didn’t mind. I thought lack of window would mean a dark room. How wrong could we have been. There was a window with a bit of flimsy fabric in front of it. The light outside was on all night, so our room was lit up constantly. Thank goodness I had my face mask with me! We were in room 3. The bathroom smelt really badly - like a blocked drain. It was cheap you get what you pay for. We were there for less than 10 hours and spent lots of that time in the pub round the corner. Would’ve asked to be moved if we were there for longer.
