New Orleans is my second home, I attended college there. I've stayed all over the city and this boutique hotel is a gem!! A separate bedroom from a full living room, layout is really cool. Although there is no view, it reminds me of an old Hollywood black and white movie (the brick wall view). The breakfast buffet was a surprise, with eggs and sausage, along with other choices. The bar stayed open until 10pm and I enjoyed my Old Fashioned. I will certainly look to stay here again if I don't need a balcony for my stay. Excellent value!!

To early for this

The check in process was smooth and fast. The room was clean. My only issue was that we entered the breakfast area at 646a. At 651a, Berry (the cook) came out and hold us that we had to leave immediately because breakfast didnt start until 7a. Which I thought was crazy since we had already served ourselves and 7a was just 9mins away at that point.

The front desk staff is friendly, helpful and professional. Our room was great with a comfortable bed and plenty of room. Great water pressure and plenty of hot water. The bar needs attention. It's rarely open and has no wine opener available for guests. A missed opportunity to generate some income for the hotel. Each room should have a wine opener in it for guests since there is a wet bar and glassware.

We had the most unbelievable and fantastic stay at the Mercantile hotel! I have never encountered such a friendly staff, the rooms were fantastic and the breakfast was always impeccable. This is our new favorite hotel and we will absolutely stay here again each time we come back to New Orleans.

The location of the hotel was nice. Very walkable to places we went to. The staff was very nice. The property does not have parking, but instead offers valet parking for $50 a night, which is a little pricy, but convenient.The cleanliness of the room was fine, but the bed was very uncomfortable. The shower water pressure was weak, but the water was very hot. The water for the entire hotel went out for 6 hours on our third day there from 10am - 4 pm. When the water came back on it was quite yellow for awhile. Overall it was maybe a 3.5/5 stay.

The hotel itself was really nice! I liked the old, historic feel and it was pretty close to everything! When we arrived our AC barely worked, and even after having maintenance fix it, it still sat at 70. We were given stained towels and no robes. There was makeup stains in the bathroom too.
