An affordable small room for a solo traveller like myself is all that I need. I just have one issue with the top floor room that I booked... because air con is centralized, I have no control over how hot and humid it was in that room. On top of that, apparently the window on the 30th floor was not allowed to be opened.. due to safety I guess? It just made my hot room feel even more sticky and stuffy. The view on the 30th floor is stunning, and I took many pictures and recordings, but if I were to stay here again, then I would not pay premium for a penthouse floor. 3.5 stars out of 5

We had an amazing stay at the APA Hotel & Resort Ryogoku Eki Tower. Quiet area that was nice to come home to after a long 30000 step day. Facilities were clean. Accessibility to the gym, onsens and laundry is a major perk. They also have their own 24 hour Lawson on the 2nd floor. This was a game changer! The only drawback was their elevator system. I found between the hours of 8 - 1030 AM it took a long time to get an elevator to take us down stairs to the main floor due to the heavy traffic with other guests. There were a few times we were waiting for 20+ minutes before being able to get on one of the elevators. We often times found ourselves pressing the UP button just to get on an elevator to then go down. Overall, great stay. But something needs to be done to make the elevators more efficient! Would hate to miss a reservation due to the elevator system!

The room although compact was very well equipped, with some excellent space saving elements (the bathroom was very well designed to maximise space). The hotel elevator was quite busy but did provide a heat map, to try and avoid busy times. The launderette in the basement was a very useful element to use, allowing us to not carry too much in dirty clothes. Would recommend this hotel and would gladly stay again.
