Bear Escape was a great escape.

Property was everything we needed to be: secluded yet not to far from Helen and other attractions, very comfortable with a well equipped kitchen, great hot tub, and ample parking. Only drawback was Blue Creek trail, touted in the property description, needs to be cleared as it has a lot of down trees and limbs that make if hard to hike.

We enjoyed our stay, great location. Hot tub was perfect. It was decorated for Christmas which was pretty. The only problem was we stayed in early January so it was cold out and the downstairs bedrooms stayed super cold even with the heat cranked high.

Great location!!!

Property manager graciously allowed extra dogs for a fee. Kitchen was well equipped with cooking tools. We enjoyed the soft music playing upon arrival it really helped set the vacation mood. Substandard cleaning- lipstick and hair in cups, mold in basement shower, lots of dust and cobwebs throughout the home. ** SAFETY ** Minimum property safety standards are not likely being met at this property: - 2 of the 3 basement bedrooms do not have proper ingress/egress for emergency exits. - None of the basement bedrooms have a fire/smoke alarm, let alone an interconnected smoke alarm. - 1 of the basement bedrooms does not have air return for heating or cooling or any air circulation. Even if not for safety it caused our family discomfort because of lack of heating. Overall, we had a great time and enjoyed the property and surrounding area. Close to downtown Helen and Dukes Creek Falls which was an amazing hike!

Christmas Cabin!

Our family has grown over the last 3 years with Kids getting married and adding grandkids. We have been staying at a VRBO property over the holidays for that time. We are looking for our forever Christmas Cabin that we can rent from year to year. Pine Springs is definitely in the running for next year! It was the right amount of space and only a few things that we would change but nothing that would keep us from renting this property again.

Cabin provided ample space for our family. We enjoyed the hot tub. Did find some issues with cleanliness. Master shower floor needed scrubbing and rinsing . Oven needed a good scrub. Need to make guests aware that kitchen has limited flatware do can plan to bring plastic!ware.

Fun getaway

Overall the property was as advertised, we had a few issues that I hope were addressed before the next visitors arrived. I was a bit disappointed with the beds downstairs, they were quite uncomfortable and made a horrible sound when you moved. Overall the house was clean but there were some large cobwebs in the dormers and windows that really should be taken care of. My mother in law is terribly afraid of spiders so she avoided sitting under the dormer. My main issue of course was the air conditioner not working on our last day that caused a very uncomfortable night for all, we were able to open only a few windows because of the lack of window screens. We also noticed several maintenance issues like the downstairs bathroom doorknob was very loose and the shower drain upstairs was very slow. You should also add about the driveway being very steep and requiring a sharp turn. We had a 15 passenger van, much larger and we wouldn't have been able to make that turn. I will again say that overall our stay was good, all of the issues that we had are very fixable.
