Perfect hotel, perfect location!

Had a fantastic stay at the Hotel Lion d’Or. the hotel, while old, was very comfortable, clean, and welcoming. Its a perfect location, just across from the train station and Keukenhof bus. We’re already planning our return trip next year and will definitely stay at the Hotel Lion d’Or.

The best hotel in Haarlem

This property is consistently wonderful. It is the full package. The staff are simply amazing, the rooms are great and i felt they offered a lot of storage space. I loved the cooler in each room, the bathroom is great, so it the water pressure. They offer breakfast and dinner in the gorgeous lounge downstairs and a full bar. You are in the square where the train station and buses are located which is incredibly convenient and there are many delicious restaurants within a few steps on either side of the building. I could see the steeple of St Bavo's from my room, and the beds are very comfortable. I can honestly say that this is the best hotel in Haarlem and i consider it my second home. The building itself has an amazing history all on its own. You are able to walk to several grocery stores, a Kruidvat, shops, a bicycle rental, and the square of the Grote Kerk in moments. It is also where Rick Steves stays when in town so that says quite a lot as well! Do yourself a favor and book your stay with them. It is a special experience

If you’re looking for a place to stay in Haarlem, this is the place to be. The staff was excellent, friendly and very helpful. Our room was great, and the space was clean. The location was great for us. It’s right across from the train station as well as where the busses come and go. Personally we never had a problem with noise from the station. We liked that it wasn’t downtown but still close enough to restaurants, cafes and shopping. It’s within walking distance to everything. Definitely recommend to stay at the Lion D’Or and hope to come stay again in the future.
