There was a strong chemical smell permeating the hotel. I could not stay there. I left very frustrated and had to book another room. The clerk admitted they were doing work in the hotel. They should not have even booked the room with that going on. It was awful. As you can see, I booked another room on the same night at The Elwood. I have been a loyal user of Hotels.com, but this is a deal killer if I don’t get at least a credit for this awful experience.

Staff was very engaging and helpful. We had a problem from a surgery that day, and needed some replacement bedding. Replacement was provided quickly. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good, but limited options.
