We really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel is walkable to all attractions and close to bars and restaurants. The ancient ruins underneath the hotel are fascinating to see. We had no clue about them when we booked the hotel so it was a wonderful surprise! Hotel is very clean and modern and we had a great view of the river and cruise ships from our balcony.

Great property facing the river, in old town steps To winding streets with quaint restaurants offering fado. We booked a room with a terrace which was amazing to watch the sailboats and cruise ships. Great shops very close to us and too many restaurants to choose from. The breakfast at the hotel was delicious and abundant and the staff was excellent.

Great hotel, great neighborhood.

Very nice hotel, comfortable room, and great bathroom. I love hotels with a door between the bedroom and the door that goes to the corridor. That guarantees you don’t have noise coming from the corridor, that is great. Extremely clean room, so much so that my allergy to mite dust didn’t affect me. The location is great if you want to be close to the oldest parts of the city. This neighborhood, Alfama, is so beautiful.

We spent four wonderful nights at this hotel. The staff was superb, the food exquisite and the room among the best in which I have ever stayed. The small archeological museum on site was fascinating as well. Would eagerly stay there again.

Super nice staff at all touch points, helped me work on both early checkin and late checkout. Breakfast buffet was also quite good. Perhaps, on the margin, for a hotel in this category I would have hoped for an actual hotel bar, somewhat more upscale gym facilities, and slightly better room decor (large open floor space without rugs made for a spartan feel). But overall very nice.

Everything’s within walking distance, and the charm, the winding streets, the music in the air… it all feels like a beautiful dream. This morning, we took a special guided tour offered by the hotel, and it was something else. The building itself holds over 7,000 years of history, and the way they’ve preserved its spirit is just incredible. We spent over an hour being swept up in the stories and layers of time that live within these walls.
