I have traveled to many places in Europe and stayed at many different kinds of hotels. I know that they are smaller and sometimes outdated. But this one was just horrific. Don’t be fooled by the pics online- the rooms are ancient. Upon arrival into the lobby we smelled the most horrendous odor similar to urine which carries into the elevators. The bathroom had no ventilation and was therefore covered in mold. The shower felt like someone was spitting water at you. The carpet was filthy. And when our tv didn’t work we called the front desk who said they’d send someone up but no one ever came. To say we were disappointed in our stay would be an understatement.

This hotel is in a brilliant spot right by Tower Bridge, but it is clear they are relying on the location rather than providing a genuine four star experience. The room was extremely cramped, and the heating was a plug in wall radiator that, frankly, felt like a fire risk. If we had not been so jet lagged when we arrived, we would have left the same day. We cancelled the rest of our stay and moved elsewhere because we did not feel safe. It is a real shame, especially given the location.

While the rooms decor is old and the bathrolms could do with a refresh, the locations is just perfect and the price we got was great. Breakfast was actually good and the late checkout fee was honest and the concierge service to leave your luggage was free.
