Aged 88 years and having visited 104 countries I have put Kata Beach resort into my top three, 3 - star places to have a holiday. Fruit salad for my corn flakes would have been the icing on the cake. Rooms were larger than expected and I have no hesitation in recommending this resort with its wonderful staff and swimming pools for all ages from tots to adults. Bed, internet service and transport all good. I am a happy camper.

DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL. Your safety is at risk if you choose to stay in this hotel. I checked out of this hotel a day earlier as the hotel was unsafe and the staff had a bad attitude when managing the safety issues we identified. The adjoining room door to our room was opened at 3.30am and I jumped out of bed and saw a man standing in the doorway. It was dark so I didn't wait to identify the man clearly and slammed the door shut. The man began banging on the door asking us why we were in his room. I'm unsure if he was drunk or confused in the darkness but I told him to stay in his room and not enter into ours. The next day when we informed hotel staff of what happened we were given a very flippant reply that we should have locked the door. We informed them that there is no lock on the door and to come up to the room to see for themselves. They initially refused to come to the room and after much persuasion, finally came up to the room. When we showed them that the door cannot be locked, their reply was to ask us if we closed the door at night. OBVIOUSLY the door was closed. Anyway, they offered us another room but we decided not to continue our stay at the hotel. On the second day that we were there, the water that came out of the tap was brown. They had to change our room because of the dirty water. The new room had a bad smell but we decided to put up with it hoping it would pass. The break into our room was the last straw and we decided to check out of the hotel.
