Old school hotel in the heart of Frankfurt. Fantastic location, amazing staff. Didn’t spend much time in the actual hotel but would stay again.

Excellent hardware poor service

The Hotel is superb and has a very nice location. The service is terrible. Nobody to carry to luggage nobody answering the phone. We paid for an upgrade and the suite was nice but the carpet was dirty.

The hotel was wonderful. Because I booked through hotels.com/expedia, I was unexpectedly treated by the hotel. My room was upgraded, I was given a credit for 25 euros toward food, and I was offered late check out. It was a kind and appreciated gesture. I did get a hot stone massage at the spa, which was lovely. I spent some time in the sauna, although I was suprised it was co-ed. I also enjoyed an Afternoon Tea Service, which was delicisious. Lastly, a friend and I sat at the bar on Saturday night and were left alone by the staff to have a long conversation. It was nice to just sit and not feel rushed.

I learned the hotel was first built 1876, the first in Germany to have electricity for lighting and the first in Frankfurt to have a landline for long-distance calls. That's pretty unique! Staff is very responsive, courteous, and pleasant. Rooms were a nice size, all clean. Easy walkable access to many things. After we figured out the underground (it's massive), had access to a spot across town a bit.
