Celebrating Graduation!

My son and I visited London to celebrate his graduation from the University. The Bedford Hotel could not have been more centralized to where we wanted to be. Easy trip on the Elizabeth line from Heathrow Airport to nearby station. Walking distance to St Pancras station where we took a trip to Nottingham from. All shops, including Denmark St as I play guitar, were nearby. Staff were great, beds clean and comfortable. Overall great experience.

Stafe was friendly and accommodating. The hotel restaurant's breakfast was nice. Good amount of dinning options nearby. The British Museum is only a 5 minute walk. My only negative comment is that the hotel rooms do not have air-conditioning.

Do you know the horror movies where the hotel sign only partly works, and you know something wrong is going to happen there? That’s the Bedford: I got in late in the evening after a long day on the road. The receptionist told me they don’t have the room I booked and that they moved me to another hotel (half a km away). Therefore, they said, I should walk there, stay the night and come back the day after for the remainder of my stay. There were no other options, according to the receptionist and his two colleagues. When I came back the next morning I asked for a quiet room, having not slept much in the alternative hotel. I guess it’s their sense of humor, as they gave me a room above the main road. On the positive, they refunded me half the cost of the room for the previous night. The room itself was tiny, and everything looked old and\or cheap. So tiny that if the bathroom door is open, the sink isn’t accessible (have you guys not heard of sliding doors?). So tiny that only a single bed can be placed inside it. There is no ventilation or air conditioning in the room, so the options are either to open the window (more noise and pollution from the road below) or to have no fresh air. Breakfast was reasonably good. I won’t be coming here again.

I really enjoyed my week at the Bedford Hotel. Service was excellent from the beginning, helpful staff. Breakfast was a great way to start the day, with many options, from full English to fruits and breads. Room was clean and comfortable. Great location, near dining and attractions. Right around the corner from British Museum. Russell Park is also right by, perfect for a morning walk. Was able to walk to most places, not far from transportation for those who don't walk as much. If you are not a fan of small lifts (elevators), this may not be the place for you.

A very well situated hotel convenient for Transportation, walking to West End, British Museum and restaurants. Excellent breakfast buffet. Rooms are small and the shower in my room could not be adjusted because of a broken part.
