It’s a very good option among the hotels around Paddington. I’ve tried a few and this one is my favorite in terms of value for money.

Very friendly staff at the hotel. Hotel was very close to Paddington station and was so easy to navigate around London. The hotel itself was very clean, comfortable and had everything you needed. The rooms were small but ok for the purpose it was intended of just somewhere to lay your head. I liked the little personal touches of having a selection of hot drinks and pastries in the reception, free bottled water in the rooms and also being able to leave luggage on the day or arrival and departure.

The property was convenient (being close to Paddington station), reasonably priced (for London) and newly renovated. One shortcoming was that there was a strip of bright white LED lights above the bed in the room that couldn't be turned off at night. When I called the person at reception they said this was a security feature in all rooms and couldn't be turned off. They were so bright it made it almost impossible to sleep.

Location, Location, Location! 900feet from Paddington Station. Love the AC! Keeps the room comfortable and quiet. Nicely updated rooms. Rooms are smaller. This makes getting around a bit tight. The staff is genuinely interested and attentive to your questions and needs.

The breakfast area was a tad claustrophobic and the food a little mediocre. But the new hotel conversion has made the most of the building and it’s safe and very convenient. The staff are excellent - polite and efficient.

The Grand Concerto Hotel (formerly Castleton Hotel per my credit card) has improved from what looked like a nightmare online. Great location near Paddington Station - perfect for travel and good value for the price. It looks really nice inside too - but the rooms are small so keep that in mind. The customer service, however, was seriously lacking. When I needed laundry info, staff said they don't offer it and claimed not to know any nearby places (Central Wash and Lilas are walking distance per Google). Worse was at 3 AM departure when my phone internet wasn't working (there was no trains running at this time, no taxis outside either) - not their fault, but I asked for a taxi number. They refused to help, saying "they don't do this." A staff member was watching videos on a laptop but wouldn't look up a taxi company. Most hotels would at least give you a phone number or call one for you. Had to walk to Paddington at 3 AM where security actually helped me. Nearly missed my flight. And again it is not their problem, but as a traveler this was something I never experienced at any accommodation. Staff handled basic requests like toilet paper fine but showed zero problem-solving skills for actual travel needs. The buffet was okay too, but there is also a good place called Mimo's across the street. Bottom line: Excellent location and price, but don't expect help beyond the absolute basics. Have backup plans ready and if you encounter a problem, try and solve it on your own.

The staff were mostly friendly once you get to know them. The room was small but cosy. The food was good but unable to get the milk hot for a coffee as used special milk not in there machine.

It’s an awful experience to stay. The isolation fan in the toilet didn’t work. We asked the staff to fix but they said nothing could be done at the weekend. On Monday, still no one came to fix it. The walls were so thin that we could hear water running in the pipes and the sewage, even the air conditioner was making some sound of water dripping. There’re always flies in the room even you drove them out. They kept coming in. There must be a ‘fly door’ somewhere. One night at 5 am, the smoke detector siren went off for a minute. We asked for a change of the room but the staff said the type of room wasn’t available and they couldn’t upgrade our room. That meant we could just accept downgraded services without even an apology.
