Lovely hotel in a fab location. The lobby, all communal areas absolutely gorgeous. The rooms are dated but ok. We had a deluxe double which was ok, no views other then the workings of hotel outside so a bit grim. The room was very cold we left heating on & was still cold on our return the room is only heated by aircon unit there are no radiators in room or bathroom. Bathroom exceptionally cold even loo was freeeezing to sit on. We called reception & a housekeeper have us an extra duvet. The bathroom itself was nice but just too cold. During the night we could hear outside the noise of what sounded like the heating/aircon units. I dont feel this warranted to be called a deluxe double. Best part of the stay was breakfast. Beautiful dining area, very attentive restaurant manager & food was absolutely lovely & lovely & hot despite being buffet style. Best hot full english in a while!

When we walked into the room, there was a very strange smell. We noticed that the bedding had been put on inside out, and the duvet cover had stains on it. We asked for a replacement, and someone came to change the sheets, but there were still stains on the side of my bed. The hotel seemed to be lacking attention to small details. For example, the mirror on the wall was not properly aligned. For a hotel that is meant to be fancy, it definitely did not feel that way. At night, the floorboards creaked as people moved around above us, which was very loud and disruptive. The air conditioner also made a rattling noise when turned on, so we were unable to sleep with it on. The bathroom was nice, with both a bath and a shower, and it was clean. The staff were lovely and very responsive, with no complaints in that area. Because we were only staying for one night, we didn’t want to complain or make a fuss. However, given the issue with the duvet, we did expect the hotel to offer something as an apology.

Wonderfully located in Charing Cross. A great historic building, but don't take that to mean old and tired. It is updated and beautiful inside. The staff are extremely helpful and courteous.

Great staff! Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Particularly the Maitre D at breakfast. Didn’t get his name but he was tall dark handsome and kind. Went out of his way for my family. It’s a beautiful hotel and very quirky. It’s so well placed. The rooms were very clean. Breakfast was lovely with lots of choices and every room is just stunning! We enjoyed a cocktail in the bar which was a lovely way to relax after a busy day. The grand staircase is beautiful. So well placed. I look forward to staying again.

This was my 3rd stay in this lovely hotel. Staff is wonderful and rooms are large and spacious. Beautiful and clean hotel with a great bar and a restaurant. Close to tube/train and a taxi queue outside. Will stay here again!

The hotel was beautifully decorated for the holidays. The suite was big enough for 4 adults. We were quite pleased that they accommodated our online request for a rollaway bed - it was already in our room once we were able to get into our room - without being asked again about it. Very friendly staff very professional.
