Old style mansion property. Quite beautiful but with that came squeaky floorboards and leaking tap. No heating or aircon in room but a fan was provided. Two bath towels and one bath mat supplied but no hand towel. When I enquired they provided another bath towel. Staff were friendly. Position was excellent. Walking distance to Paddington where we dined at a fab Italian restaurant and to Paddington Station. The Swan Pub just a minute down the road was excellent too.

Great location but the noise from a room next to us was appalling. The first night an American was shouting for about 4 hours and the next night him and his wife was having an argument and in the morning he was being sick very loudly. I spoke to reception the first day but no response came back. Not sure I will go back.

My first solo hotel visit since the death of my husband was an important and rather frightening event. Everyonr at the Columbia made me feel welcome and treasured. Lovely room, friendly and efficient staff. I now have a home from home and I shall be back. Thank you

We had a lovely stay at the Columbia! They were very helpful with things we needed to refrigerate and the staff were very friendly, particularly the young lady working the desk on the evening of the 30th and morning of the 1st (sorry, I didn't get her name). The hotel was in a great location, being just off Hyde Park/Kensington Gardens and having a bus stop just outside. I will definitely look to stay again when in London!

Older hotel with a lot of charm. Very helpful concierge service. 2 blocks from the underground. Across the street from lovely Hyde Park. Walkable to Paddington neighborhood with lots of dining options.

The outside look of hotel does not match inside decor, friendliness or service. Amazing historic facility should come with staff knisledgeable about its history and be willing to share. Staff were not vustomer oriented. The one person who was friendly enough was the duty manager. Locatio excellent for Hyde park snd shopping, bus is right outside hotel manager.building

The hotel has a beautiful decor and the room size was surprisingly spacious, which I really appreciated. The design and furniture gave a cozy, stylish vibe that made the space feel welcoming. However, there were some major issues that affected the stay — the door had no proper lock, which didn’t feel secure at all, and the floors creaked with every step, making it hard to relax or move quietly. And there was no fridge. It’s a nice-looking place with potential, but it definitely needs some maintenance and basic safety improvements before I’d consider staying again.

Many places near by for dining. Park near by and bus line in front of the property. Hotel is older and there were only a few items available in the room. No hair dryer, no refrigerator, no air-conditioning, paper thin walls and creaky floors.

The hotel needs an entire revamp internally. It looks like it hasn't had even as much as a lick of paint since the 1980s and it's a shame what a beautiful old building has been reduced to.

We loved the location of this hotel and the service from the staff was good. They accommodated us after hours and were easily accessible and friendly. We didn’t realize the rooms do not have air conditioning, which made things uncomfortable at times. There was also a lot of work being done on the building that was noisy and we weren’t warned about prior. The building is a bit older and has beautiful features, but lacks some convenience. Overall we enjoyed our stay especially at the price point.

At first we arrived and they gave us a room all the way at the top and there were stairs to get to our room plus stairs inside of the room and stairs going down into the bedroom- super odd. Not safe for our child. Also was SUPER hot and muggy because there is no AC. We asked to change rooms and thankfully were able to. They moved us to a better room. Very small rooms not depicted in the photos at all. Sink didnt work well. It was good for our 2 night stay because we could walk to Kensington Gardens and grab food nearby but we would not stay there again.

The good: A historic property across from Hyde Park with a lovely exterior and convenient to transit. The staff are eager to help and our room was kept impeccably with fresh towels daily. The less good: the property is tatty and the bathrooms need updating. Dining and the bar were underwhelming. The paint choice for the second floor hallways is horrid.
