Get one of the rooms with the large balcony. Views are amazing. Loved the reusable water bottles. Staff are super helpful. They directed us on how to ride the subway.

The check in process is chaotic and stupid. Trying to make it “self check in”, but they have 2 employees there. It would have been much better to have them check us in the old fashioned way, show them my ID and a credit card. Quick and simple. I didn’t like the pillows. Too fat and bulky. I asked if they have down pillows, they do not.

More like a 4.5 star rating. This was the perfect hotel for our NYC trip because we didn’t plan on being in the room much. Yes the room was very small, but it had everything we needed - comfortable bed, good water pressure in the shower, fridge and microwave, full length mirror. Everyone on the front desk team was pleasant and accommodating and held our luggage in storage after checkout so we didn’t have to carry it around the city. If you’re looking for a simple, clean, no-frills, centrally located hotel in Midtown then the Jewel is the spot for you. I would definitely stay again!

The property was clean and we really enjoyed access to free water. The only complaint we had was the water pressure in the shower. Otherwise, the bed was comfortable and the room was a great temperature! We also loved the restaurant across the street so much that we ate there twice.
