When we arrived on Saturday the only lift was out of order and not being repaired until Monday. We upgraded our room before we arrived and were informed it was on the 6th (top floor), no offer to help carry our luggage up the stairs 6 floors. We were out of breath and not very happy with the situation. The junior suit we upgraded to was small no desk, grubby and requires refurbishing. We asked to be moved back to a standard room on the lowest floor possible, they managed the 2nd floor. This room was tiny, double bed not much bigger than a single and desperately needs a refurb, every floor board was creaking and the whole hotel just smelt of disinfectant, not very pleasant.

Room was clean and spacious but the flag pole outside kept clunking in the wind so disturbed our sleep quite a lot. Housekeeping also knocked every 20 minutes from 9.30am despite check out not being until 11am so we felt like we were being rushed out.

The first room was large but had a double and a single when we booked 3 singles and we asked to move due to all of the damp on the walls. We moved to a smaller room which was fine but still only set up for two people with towels, cups, glasses etc

Location of hotel great. My room was in good condition and clean but my son’s (which had not been updated) was a bit dingy. General decor a bit faded, which will probably account for the building noises at 8am each day! Only one small lift which was out of service for a while one day. Not good when you’re on the 6th floor. Had a problem with my shower on the first day but in fairness it was sorted out quickly. So, all in all, a comfortable base at a reasonable cost in a great location.

Everything was in good condition, however there was a noise problem. The room had single glazing and was noisy. That was a cobbled pedestrian street behind on which a bar was open late, then produce cages were rattled up and down the street quite early in the morning.

Booked the day before for a last min trip. Bargain price in January. Friendly helpful staff. We were early for checkin but just wanted to drop a bag off to go out for the day but our room was ready so we were able to go straight to it. It was a cold room on 7th floor, but there was an oil heater in the room which I’m glad I put on before we went out to take the chill out the air for coming back in. Had we waited until we got in it would’ve been freezing. There’s only one lift which is really slow and small 3/4 people max, 2 with luggage, so you may need to wait a while for it if you are unable to use the stairs especially At checkout times. Room was ideal near Holborn station and Russel square, 10/15min walk from Euston station. 15min walk to Covent Garden. Lots of eating places/coffee shops on your doorstep. Perfect for a one night 2 day trip to London and would use again if I was able to source again a cheap price.

Location is very good , clean rooms . The only thing is the shower, difficult to check the temperature without being inside the shower due the shower head point out to the door, all the water comes out. Good hotel If you want to spend 1,2 nights in London.
