A bit Spartan

We happened to be there in 90° weather and this hotel, like most in this area, has no air conditioning. That was a bit rough. But we managed. The location of this hotel is its best feature. It was close to the train station and other places we needed to go, and there were shops and restaurants all around. Just literally across the street is the Rosengart gallery, where they have a lot of Picasso, Klee, Miro, Seurat, and other impressionist and other contemporary artists. They have what they call a lounge where they serve breakfast; it’s a very nice, appealing room, and the breakfast was very good. There was not much hot food but really nice fruits and vegetables, yogurt, spreads, etc. Some of the basics at this hotel were pretty minimal. The rooms are small, which is not surprising. The towels are about what you would expect in an American prison. Very thin and scratchy; we were given two in a room with two people. When you take 3 to 5 showers a day because of the heat, towels matter. No washcloths, you have to ask for those. There’s a shared refrigerator, and they say they have a shared microwave. They say they take it out of the kitchen and place it in a common area after breakfast. We had just an hour before we had to check out and my son needed that microwave, and it did not show up. There was a breakfast server who was very disapproving, but maybe didn’t have English to say why. Sometimes in Swiss hotels I don’t feel completely welcome. Europe is different.

It went to 80's in temp when we were there and so it was hot in the room during the day, they do provide fans but no AC, but overall it was good mainly because of their location.

Fabulous stay at this hotel. Just down the road from the train station. Central to restaurants bars shopping. Close to the lake. The hotel is great. Staff were so friendly and helpful. We got lots of recommendations from Natalia on reception. The bed was comfortable the room was perfect for our two night stay. Breakfast was very good and plentiful. Loved our stay.

The room was spacious but unfortunately it was very hot and there was no AC. There was limited ice. It was in a good location. Parking was street parking which was not clear. We were under the impression that there was a garage. We panicked, parked on the street and ran to the hotel. Luckily the hotel staff was able to register us electronically and our car stayed in the street several blocks away.

All of the staff was wonderful. Location was perfect, easy walking to the chapel bridge and old town. Good bed, bath and shower, clean. Good continental breakfast. Was extremely happy with the two nights we spent here.

The location was very convenient, the breakfast was amazing, everyone was friendly and nice. The rooms were small and very, very warm as it was very warm outside. The street noise was too loud and disturbing to keep the open windows at night so that would keep us from staying here in the summer months.

Beautiful hotel managed by women. Breakfast was excellent. Location awesome. Some noise outside, ear plugs worked. Bring your own. Luggage locker was a nice extra touch. Would stay here again.

This B&B was in a great location! It was an easy walk to, and from the train station, to old town, and the lake. We were provided with a transportation pass that allowed us to hop on and off certain trains, etc., within a certain area. This was terrific. Loved that breakfast was included. And the staff was super helpful. I highly recommend this Hotel. The included breakfast was super yummy as well.

The room and bed were very small for the price. Limited place to store clothes. Breakfast was good. One day was very warm and their was no air conditioning. As far as the shower, it was literally 80cm x 80cm or 90cm x 90 cm. Very small and cramped, so the floor was often flooded. No maid service came on 1 of my 3 days

Great place and location.

A Timeless Gem – A Perfect Vacation Spot From the moment we arrived, it was clear that this property is something truly special. Lovingly restored and fully modernized. The interior was clean and incredibly comfortable, with every detail thoughtfully considered to create a relaxing atmosphere. The beds were plush. Everything was perfectly presented. The real showstopper, though, is the location.

The staff were helpful and the location is great. It is walking distance to lake, train station, and chapel bridge. However, it is very old. No air conditioning in the rooms! The room was so extremely hot and stuffy we could not sleep. They provide fan but it really did nothing to help. Our bathroom door did not close either.

Staff was very kind and helpful. Good assortment of foods for the continental breakfast. Area convenient to Old Town and train station. Only downside was no air conditioning in the rooms. This was noticed upon booking the hotel, but I didn’t think it would be needed at the end of May. A fan was provided, along with leaving window open at night provided some relief.
