We chose a Hilton over an Inn down the road, to have more comfort and amenities.
When we checked in we knew about the room rate +$25 resort fee, we were also told of a $75 per day hold.
The room was $90, we have to pay an extra $100 dollars a day. More than the room. We are from the West Coast where these fees have to be disclosed.
So we have now spend more over double per day. We get a map and told to walk in the pouring rain in the back of the property. No help, no elevators. To my surprise it was not an enclosed hotel like the “tower” it was an open hotel with no hallways, (just like the less expensive Inn)
My clothes were soaked when we got to the hotel room. We turn on the heat, I said I smell something burning. The fire alarms start going off. Turn the heat off. Cold wet and 66 degrees in the room. I grab the blow dryer to dry my hair, covered in dust and gunk. I wouldn’t touch it.
My partner sees the security hatch on the door has been completely broken off. It was hanging by a thread and OBVIOUS there was a breaking recently. So we would have had no safety hatch if we stayed there. Of course there had to be a dead bug on the desk.
We have had $100 a day added to the room rate and this is the standard of Hilton.
After about 4 calls and waiting at the front desk. We did get moved to the “tower” an enclosed hotel. In a suite.
There was pubic hair everywhere in the bathroom my partner just took care of it.
After a week we still haven’t receive our $75 a day
