The annex rooms are great. Clean and spacious. The reception staff are a bit unenthusiastic compared to other hotels in Japan. I asked if they can help me with forwarding my luggage to the next hotel but the guy just said they don’t do it and I have to go to the delivery center. It wasn’t busy but he didn’t really take the time to show me how to get there. The hotel is really confusing to navigate and I wasn’t sure if it’s inside the hotel or outside. If you’re reading this, there’s a separate luggage delivery center inside the hotel. Just ask a more helpful staff person.

Pretty close to one of the station to take the Narita airport express train, which is very convenient when you have luggage. Service was not the best I am guessing it is a big hotel too many guests to attend. Kind of rude when we asked for service to transport our baggage. Check in was pretty slow.

I’ve stayed at this property a number of times. It’s in a very convenient location being within minutes of Shinagawa Station. The hotel is now 32 years old and it shows. The staff, particularly the room cleaning staff are excellent. The hotel is very large and whilst it offers various dining options the only worthwhile breakfast option is on the lobby level. The queues are overly long begin at 5.45 in the morning. The Japanese option on the higher floor is very limited and as a result always has space. The hotel would be better off making both restaurants the same to spread the load and reduce waiting times. The hallways are very dark as are the rooms. My biggest complaint is that whilst the room has an air conditioning panel it does nothing as it’s controlled by the hotel. On our stay a few weeks before the room temperature was 24 degrees. After some discussion they agreed to reduce the room temperature for this stay. It brought the temperature down to 21 degrees which was a lot better but still a poor situation for the prices they charge. The hotel needs a major overhaul to update the condition of the hotel and bring it up to standard.

Good access from airports

Its access from the airports, HND and NRT, is great because it is located right across the Shinagawa station. Narita Express and Keikyu line are available. It was perfect if there were more shopping facilities.

Pictures are a little deceiving

The pictures are a little deceiving. The hotel itself is very nice and has a high end feeling. But when you get to your room, it’s small for the price you pay. Smaller than our other previous Japan hotels. Room could be much cleaner, although I didn’t feel disgusted, just random things I noticed in the bathroom from being old and outdated. The hotel staff didn’t take our trash for the first 2 days (which we found very weird). Overall, not really impressed. It was ok but I would stay somewhere else.
