Never received the VIP silver complimentary bottle of wine. I even went back and asked the check in person and he said he would have to ask someone else and it would be taken care of. It never was. I didn’t feel any benefit of VIP status.

An amazing property from every measure. We only had one night and wish we had more. The beds and pillows so comfortable. The hotel and rooms very clean and very well maintained. Dinner in the bar was fantastic. This is a hotel we will definitely return to!

Stayed here for our last night in Croatia. It was the cherry on top if an amazing vacation. Highly recommend. Old town is easily walked to and airport taxi is a short ride from this gorgeous hotel. Pick this one.

Old School Elegant

This hotel was centrally located and walking distance to everything I needed. All of the staff were lovely and attentive. The room was large, clean, and the bed was comfortable. The restaurant featured fine dining in the evening and beautiful breakfast options. This hotel had an art deco vibe and top notch service and while it may not be modernized like so many new basic hotels I appreciated the old school elegance and attention to detail that newer hotels lack. I would absolutely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a classy stay.

We stayed here on our last evening in Croatia and wish our stay had been longer. The concierge provided a map and suggestions on a walking tour of Zagreb. The elegant, well-maintained 100 year old Hotel Esplanade offers great comfort and many services. I did have some frustrations. I never found phone numbers for hotel services. I had to find the main number for the hotel and then was able to be connected. The afternoon I arrived, after a long drive, I would have enjoyed the publicized tea, but alas it was only for two and I was solo.

Clean but service not up to par

The check-in and check out process was entirely too slow and cumbersome. They need more staff to handle their volume of guests. This was the most frustrating part of our stay.The hotel is very clean but outdated. We enjoy traditional, European style accommodations but the hotel feels tired. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable
