This is an ok - to - good hotel. The Good: -central location right in the heart of Chiado. You’re in the middle of it all. -Spacious rooms (at least the one we got)- felt huge -a little dated furnishings but had an old world glamor -very very clean The bad: -if you get a room facing the square, expect loud noise til at least 11pm. Street performers singing, guitars, opera singing, crowds clapping and singing along. Even with sound proof rooms you’ll hear them. It was relatively quiet at night but then some drunk carousers in the middle of the night you might hear. -the elevator is old and small The so-so: service. Front desk service didn’t seem to care much, didn’t have any personality, needed training in good service, barely smiled or welcomed us. Seemed too busy and overloaded.

The hotel was very well placed and easy to use as a base for the exploration of Lisbon and the attractions available. However what would have been even better would be the availability of an in hotel bar providing drinks and refreshments.

All the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. They assisted us with any queries we had. The hotel is in the perfect location, right in the heart of Chiado, and next to a train station that brings you all across Lisbon!

This was a great stay! Perfectly located in the lisbon district. Food options are endless and it’s close to pink street. There is a lot of entertainment in the evening and ends around 12am in the night which I had no issues with. The hotel staff were great as well, provided us with water bottles when needed. I would highly recommended this location if you like to centrally located with shopping, food and by the waterfront.

Hotel Borges Chiado was conveniently located with tons of shops and dining options surrounding it. A taxi can’t pull right up to the door based on where it’s located but can get close enough. It’s close to the tram 28 and 15e stop. The hotel staff were friendly and took care of any of our needs. We had a late afternoon flight and they were able to hold our bags until our airport transfer arrived. Things to improve on 1) We booked 2 rooms and the rooms were very different, one was obviously smaller yet we were charged the same rate with a slight difference in room tax. 2) the water overflowed from the shower in one of the rooms so likely a drainage issue. 3) there may be an issue with the sewer as even though the bathroom was clean there was an odor.

Excellent location and large clean rooms!

Room 102 is large, spacious, and faces out toward the main street. There a floor to ceiling wardrobe with a safe for valuables, and a mini fridge. The bathroom has a stand-up shower with toilet and bidet, however there's no lock on the bathroom door which our only gripe. It could also use a few more hooks to hang towels, but it was very clean. Despite facing the front, the main street quieted down during the night so you shouldn't be disturbed by any noise while asleep and there are blackout curtains if you want to sleep in. The location was right in the middle of everything with shops, convenience stores, bakeries, etc within seconds of walking. And generally in the early evening/late afternoon you can catch sidewalk performers from your view. We opened the windows to enjoy listening to the saxophone performer. There's an ice machine on the first floor, but it's not a large dispenser, it's a personal ice machine. Doesn't seem like a lot of people know about it since it was full of ice when we needed. But a large water bottle take up most of the ice and you'd have to wait for it to make more. Also, if you need to get around further, the metro station is also seconds away. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
