The room was great, very clean. The beds were very comfortable. Great location, very close to a metro station, 6-7 minutes walk from Plaza Espana, next to many restaurants. The poll is small, not like in the picture, and you have to make a reservation in order to get in, the order is for only 45 minutes.

The staff were incredible. They were thoughtful and helpful . While the property has exterior construction, the rooms were quiet, clean and comfortable. The breakfast spread was incredible. It was a great location able to amble right into the excitement of central Madrid.

We were charged twice for our stay. I had to request a credit and it took two days to process. The credit amount was less than the original charges. Our room had a sewer backup on day 1. They didn’t even offer to change our rooms. Also pool access was denied to us because we had a child less than 5 years old. Very noisy hotel and you can hear street traffic all night. Unfortunately we did not have a good experience and the hotel never attempted to offer us anything like a cup of coffee on the house.

The Level Access rooms are the way to go here. Great concierge service and available food/drink options at breakfast and 5pm tapas. Walkable to several sightseeing destinations. Highly recommend and would return in a heartbeat!

The Mel Madrid is a lovely hotel with extremely friendly and helpful staff. Nothing I asked for was too much trouble. My only regrets that I didn’t get a chance to try the lovely swimming pool as it seemed a little difficult to book to use it. The hotel seems to have been surrounded by scaffolding and work for quite some time. It needs to be finished. I don’t know whether it is construction or renovation. But there was no noise and the hotel is relaxing, and there are always friendly and helpful staff on hand. Thank you, Meliá. 👍
