We booked a room for two people (paying extra for the “upper class” option), but the bed was so small that one of us had to find alternative accommodation. The staff did offer another room, but that one also had two beds that were uncomfortably tiny. The location is also inconvenient — getting to the airport requires at least two metro changes, or about $66 one way by taxi, Uber, or Bolt. On the positive side, the staff were excellent and the room was clean, though the property itself could use some renovation. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel, even at the price.

Outer suburbs of Berlin.

Friendly welcome. Basic room, good size, but ruined by massive pillar in the room. Good sized bathroom, but a shower curtain. Spotlessly clean. Very hard mattress and soft pillows. Like to be able to sit at a table and chairs to eat food or play cards, unable to due to large pillar in the way. No fridge, no kettle. Good transport links- 6 km from city centre. Lots of food places nearby.

A fine hotel in the heart of Berlin.

A very nice property in an excellent location, the staff were helpful and friendly, and they were happy to bring me a fan to help keep the room cooler as we arrived in Berlin during a brutal Heat Wave, and the air-conditioning wasn't quite enough. Overall, a great value for the price, and a place I will gladly recommend to other visitors to Berlin.

Nice hotel, poor experience

I've stayed at Ku'Damm 101 at least 6 times, to visit family in Berlin. It's a nice place in a convenient location but I probably will no longer stay there for future visits. This time in May I had to shorten my stay by 1 day, due to a death in the family and needing to travel to the funeral. The death occurred after I had booked through Hotels.com. I explained the situation during check-in, showed them the funeral announcement. The front desk said it was between me and Hotels.com. Hotels.com had a different perspective; despite their best efforts to contact Ku'Damm management, they were "unable to obtain a refund approval from the property and we will have to follow their booking policy which states that refunds are not permitted." I'm not sure Ku'Damm even replied. Ku'Damm front desk staff are not decision makers; they are a shield for absentee management/owners who could have made an exception to their policy, given the circumstances and the fact that I've been a regular visitor. They certainly could have issued me a credit good for a future stay. Greed is so disappointing.

Very clean, a very nice hotel, no real complaints. However the air conditioning could have been more effective, especially with the sun streaming in the window for much of the day. I understand the lowest it goes is 21C, which is still very warm during the day for me. A more powerful and obvious source of cooler air would have been preferable,. But the cleanliness with changes of sheets, towels and so on by staff was 100 per cent excellent.

Although not centrally located, the busses are easily accessible and an S Bahn (city trains) station is a 5 minute walk from the hotel. It is in a beautiful area, staff are very friendly and helpful.
