The beach has private lounge chairs, lots of vegetation, shade trees (Palm & Casuarina), and wildlife, making it a nature lover's paradise. The waters are part of a nationally protected marine park so you will find lots of fish, coral and turtles to befriend during your daily snorkels. Because of its location (on a point), not only do you have a gentle breeze throughout the day to keep you comfortable, but you can view BOTH the sunrise on the north facing beach in the mornings AND the gorgeous sunset on the western facing beach in the evenings between Spring and Fall Equinoxes. How romantic is that?
“Vacay Kai” is a large upscale 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom condominium with more than 1,039sf of AC/heated living space. The spacious bedroom offers a king-sized bed and the living room offers a queen-sized sleeper sofa. The kitchen boasts recently renovated beach shaker white cabinets, sink, faucet and stardust quartzite countertops. It is fully equipped with a full-sized refrigerator with icemaker, microwave, stove, oven, dishwasher & disposal. Moreover, it is stocked with cookware, small appliances, dishes, plates, and silverware to cook your favorite gourmet meals. Enjoy the view of the Caribbean Sea as you prep your breakfasts and lunches. Better yet, enjoy your meal at the table on the screened lanai, then relax afterwards (or nap!) with your favorite book on one of the lounge chairs. This condo is ideally situated for a couple or small young family.
If you’d like to take it easy, a quick 2 minute walk next door will bring you to Rum Point Club where you can grab a bite to eat and a cool drink to sip while enjoying the day, especially the breathtaking sunsets. You can also easily catch an excursion (Stingray City, snorkeling boat trip, Coral Gardens and/or Barrier Reefs, romantic sunset sail, etc) right from the pier at Rum Point Club. If you’re a dive enthusiast, the famous North Shore/North Wall offers some of the finest dive sites in the world. There are several dive shops in the area with whom you can set up your dives. Even daily, if you’re seeking a dive vacation! A short drive away is Starfish Beach where starfishes are easily found and the Cayman Crystal Caves where you can explore a tropical forest and amazing underground caverns. In the evening, you may choose to join the kayak excursion on the bioluminescent bay across the street (meet-up for this excursion is at Rum Point Club parking lot), where the water glows with each paddle or movement. There are delightful restaurants as well as a small grocery store nearby (listed in your welcome package). Or, if you’d like to head to the shopping and fine dining at Camana Bay/7 Mile Beach area, a 20 minute ferry can be caught down a short drive down the street which will take you to Camana Bay!
For the more active guests, you can enjoy the Retreat’s private pool, gym, tennis court, and ample PRIVATE parking lot. Each building also offers a charcoal grill for your barbecuing pleasure. For a simple night in, there are DVDs, games and books for your enjoyment.
The Retreat and our condo have been inspected and approved by the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism. So rest assured that our amenities are up to the finest of standards.
