When we arrived to check in for our stay, we waited a while to be seen due to only 1 person on the desk out of 3, they don’t advise you of £13 for 24hours parking & £2.40 per person Liverpool Visitor Charge till you get there. We arrived into our room, expecting it to be a-bit bigger & modern. Found a lot of loose hair in the bath tub & the pillows were rock hard. They were so thick & could not sleep with those. The breakfast isn’t worth £24, i would have went else where for breakfast.

Having booked this Hotel in a hurry due to an emergency operation at Liverpool eye hospital I was very pleased that our experience was not like many of the poor reviews would suggest - people were visibly horrified when I said where we were staying! However our room was clean and we had a new bathroom. The furnishings and fittings are dated but the room was very spacious and suited us as we spent a long time in the room. The breakfast was very good - plenty of variety for vegetarians and very tasty. The staff were all very helpful, polite and kind. Thank you.

Potential to be a great hotel but the decor in the bedroom in a poor state with paper peeling off the ceiling and behind the radiator also curtain pole taped together with sellotape.

The hotel would have been beautiful, but has not been maintained . Our room was terrible only 1 bedside table no sockets either side so a lamp cable was stretched across a wall . Water leak stains on ceiling and walls . Carpet so nasty you didn’t want your feet on it. The bathroom was dirty and screws for ceiling and wall panels didn’t have caps on, and I’m sure the bedroom below us had water problems as the sealant round our bath was not attached . Really poor . But unfortunately as Liverpool is such a busy destination and full of visitors all year round the hotel can charge £200 a night with no breakfast and people will pay it . Really sad that a building that is so iconic should be owned by a company that feel they don’t need to maintain it .

Get what you pay for.

Massive queues at check in. Stretched out the main door. We went for a drink instead came back an hour later still long queues ((what’s the point of express check in) hotel staff are always friendly. Been here loads of times cos it’s cheapest place, always clean and adequate for a night in Liverpool. The bathrooms are being upgraded , second time we’ve been with no mirror in the bathroom or room.

The room was not properly equipped with bedside lighting and the shower was not properly fitted out. The room gave the impression of being in completely finished in redecoration process. There were no bulbs in the lighting.

Good hotel.

First, beautiful hotel I have never seen marble walls like that before, amazing hall, nice staff very accommodating, our room was simple double room then bathroom then single room bathroom was newly renovated but bedroom it self needs attention, overall a beautiful hotel I will definitely stay again very central location with an incredible value.

Our initial room had no hot water so we had to move rooms. The second room we were moved to the bathroom door didn't close properly, the wardrobe doors didn't shut either, the curtains were too small for the windows, the carpet had a lot of dubious stains on, couldn't walk on with bare feet, the windows were filthy inside and out, the television didn't work..........
