Arrived early to leave our luggage but the room was ready. We were able to empty our case and have a drink before setting off for the afternoon. The room had everything we needed for our 1 night stay. The bed was comfy and to say we overlooked Portland Street, we slept well. Can't think of any negatives.

Great location

Great stay, great location. Only complaint would be no oat milk at breakfast on the second morning. Slightlu noisy on Saturday night too, but you'd expect that from city centre.

Mixed feelings.

Very mixed feelings about this hotel. Location wise, it was perfect. As a wheelchair user, it was frustrating. Breakfast was acceptable, certainly nothing to write home about. The beds were comfortable but dangerous; they were on castors that meant the bed moved everytime you went to sit on the edge - not great when you’re not very steady on your feet! The entrance, on Princess street, is a floor below reception, the doors are not automatic and are quite narrow. To get the wheelchair in, I needed both doors open and there is no-one to help. You have to take a lift up to Reception, then an open wheel in/wheel off lift up the equivalent of 4 steps, then another lift up to the bedrooms. The lifts are so tiny, my husband couldn’t fit in with me in the wheelchair, so we had to do every trip separately and wait for each other. The gentleman on Reception when we arrived was polite and helpful. The lady on Reception when we checked out this morning was bordering on rude. Thankfully we didn’t need to speak to her, but some poor guests who wanted to leave their bags were met with exasperated tones. Breakfast was plentiful and things like cereal, bread, etc were good. The bacon however was stuck together in clumps and coated in white stuff. The scrambled eggs were made with powdered eggs and were revolting. Drinks in the bar were reasonably priced and excellent quality. As you can tell, we had a really mixed experience and if you’re able bodied, this hotel could be ideal. Not for me!

Overall a decent place to stay. Staff were very nice and welcoming. Quite noisy late into the night as it is so central but that is to be expected. Mostly clean but some small details could be improved, such as wiping the TV remote control.

Nice hotel, good location. My only criticism is that there were not enough plug sockets and I had no idea how to turn off the blue spot light over the bed, which intertrupted my sleep.

Dated and small room
