This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. The photos on Hotel.com look nothing like the filthy disgusting mess that you are faced with. Heating wasn't working and even though I managed to find someone on reception, I was ignored. Only half of my room was carpeted and the other half had a bed sheet on the floorboards! Wardrobe and bedside table looked like they'd been taking out of a skip, bed side lamp wasn't working. Window was closed but the floral, 1970's style curtains were still blowing in the wind due to the rotting frames. The half carpet was full of stains and the filthy dirty bathroom was a shared one between 3 other rooms.
Wow, where to begin! We arrived at 3:15 with our room numbers assigned but my friend went upstairs to find police tape over the door, this was the room he was 'upgraded' to! When he went to reception he was told that no other rooms were available so there was a mad rush to find somewhere else close by as we had a rugby match to attend at 5pm.
Availability last minute was scare and the cheapest hotel was £228. As such he is out of pocket by approximate £110 (difference in cost).
Other things wrong with the other two rooms :
- cigarette burns in the carpet
- musty towels
- noise from the street (drunken students on their way home)
- noise from the other rooms (walls very thin)
- blood in the sink
- leaking shower
- rooms dirty overall
If we had paid £25/30 / night maybe we could some of these faults could be overlooked but it was just over £100 for the night.
I would recommend this hotel is delisted and I would like a response in relation to additional cost incurred as a result of there being no rooms available.
Avoid at all cost!
Incredibly poor. The day of our stay, the hotel was cancelled by OYO due to double booking. When I called the hotel they were unsympathetic and did not support in any sense to get us compensation or support booking a room. I am incredibly disgusted by the services we received and I will not be booking a OYO hotel again.

We turned up 10minutes after the time we originally said due to traffic. The room wasn’t made the bed was messy, it stunk of alcohol and their was left over wine bottles from the night before and ee got told to wait an additional 10/15mintues for them to do the room. Said we would get a refund as we didn’t stay but have heard nothing of it. Now they are saying we never turned up when that was never the case

Room was not in an ideal condition. Floor was nasty looking so much we didn’t want to take our socks off. Shower was not cleaned with hairs all over the tray
Yes the staff were Amazing helping me with all of my needs! I would definitely stay there again whenever I’m in Bristol very clean. Had everything I needed. Location is very central and it was quiet.
A disgusting, filthy hotel. Do not stay here - after seeing our room we didn’t! It should be removed from Expedia. Would give it zero stars if I could.

This was my second stay at The Regency Hotel this year. Staff was great again, managed to allocate me a nice room with a bath - the only purpose of my stay :-D room was ready earlier so I was allowed to check in to enjoy my stay for a bit longer. Definitely recommend this hotel. Good value and very comfortable stay.
The room very dirty with stains on walls and carpets, it had not been cleaned there was litter on the floor.
i did the check in but as soon as i saw the room i left and did not stay at the hotel, i have a strong feeling that there were quite a few immigrants staying at the hotel, which made me feel uncomfortable. the place was so un looked after i booked another hotel elsewhere and stayed there.
Worst stay I’ve ever had - needed a place last minute and booked in. Yes it’s cheap but the self check in did not work, waiting for a text stood outside in the dark alone - I eventually got in and there was a drunk guy in the hall banging on doors with the same issue (his code didn’t work) but less able to sort it out. Got into room and it was filthy. Linen and towels were clean and a fresh pouch of shampoo so I’m sure housekeepers so their best but the building is a total state - damp all over the wall and ceiling, filthy carpet with huge brown stain all over it. Wall had grimy sweat stains from being leant against and furnishings had nails poking out where the edges were broken. The door was all controlled by a code and I felt so unsafe I actually moved the small desk in the room over to cover the doorway. People running up and down the stairs screaming all night and bashing on the walls with cigarette smells coming through. Run externally as everything done by text no one was on site to help. Lesson learned here but outrageous to charge what they do for this hovel.

The carpets from landing to the room were absolutely dirty and stained and so was the bathroom. The bedding was clean but I could smell the stench from the pillow
I was just looking for a bed for a couple of nights and this place delivered on that. I slept well and had access to the basic facilities I needed. Also I got it at short notice whilst on the train so that worked well. However...
After booking I was asked to complete online registration to get codes for the front door and the room. I did that and was sent an email and WhatsApp message confirming the codes. I also got a text asking me to book direct with Oyo instead. On arrival the front door code worked and the person at the desk asked if I had a code for the room which I confirmed. After climbing all to the top of the building I discovered that the code didn't work and had to return to the desk to get help. That involved the desk person coming to reset. The room is basic, no curtain or blind in the window so that's a privacy issue. Carpet was stained, bath was stained, cups were different sizes. So coming here depends what you are looking for. Luxury stay, no. Somewhere safe to sleep, yes.
