Reception staff were very good and helpful. Unfortunately the room we were allocated wasn’t what we expected. When I booked the accommodation the impression I got was there would be a walk in shower but found to have a bath tub. Was immensely disappointed to find that. My wife struggled to get in and out with her limited mobility.
The receptionist said that rooms with two double beds had a tub and not a walk in shower. The photos on your website need correcting.
The breakfast at £17.50 wasn’t really value for money. Items were not replaced as one would expect. We had to tell the staff that dishes were empty, bread needed refilling and generally not a pleasant experience. Had better breakfast at other hotels which were in fact a lot less money.
Apart from the bathtub, everything was fine. Other hotel facilities were good. Swimming pool was fine except there was swimming class going which meant one third of the pool was taken up. With 10/12 people in the pool, it seemed a bit congested.
Overall it was ok. Our main reason for staying at Aloft was the close proximity to Excel. I am not sure whether the hotel is good value for money. I have stayed at Marriott hotels and they have much better.
