Southampton is a place where you embark cruiseship. I guess not much more. So it influences the situation in hotels. They can charge you what they want in cruise season and you can't do anything about that. Most of the people staying one night which I guess can be pretty annoying. Hotel is trying to save as much as they can (with the exception of tee and coffee selection at the room which I appreciate). Condition of the bathroom is poor. We had issue with basically everything there. Toilet seat didn't stay at the toilet, problem with flushing, rusty washing basin, shower missing component for changing water temperature make is very hard to use, water flow not very good. Great cleaning ladies. Reception rather poor but hardly surprising giving the condition. Worst experience was bar, where staff successfully managed to ignore us for more than hour even though we were sitting in front of them. After that we avaioded all the service at the hotel including breakfast. Gym is the gem here, pool and spa good. Beds good. I'm afraid you can't do much better in Southampton, we stayed in second Leonardo as well and that was worse with the exception of the bar staff.
