Business Trip. Clean Room, good amenities, comfy bed. Two comments - small shower cubicle. If you was large you would certainly struggle to get in and out. Breakfast area is small and gets busy with only a few visitors.

Shame about the room.

The bedroom was a little tired with one of the beds on a slope with a stained mattress cover, although it was clean. The carpet was very stained. Both rooms had steep steps up to the en suite bathroom which caused us a problem as three of us are in our 70s and one in his 80s. The reception area and bar was vey nice as were the staff. The breakfast was plentiful land well laid out. It was only the issues with the rooms that caused us to submit a low star score. The position of the hotel was great as it was a short stroll to Brightons activities.

Decent little hotel

I chose an expensive room with a sea view. Great size, large shower room. Fabulous view. The decor was very attractive and it seemed to have been recently renovated. Slight criticism of the layout - the mirror near to the plug was not set up with a seat nearby. It was easy to move the chair which was placed by the desk to where I needed it but… Check-in was easy and staff were very helpful. The reception area looks freshly decorated. Go beyond the main area (ie to the basement toilets, or towards the mess bedrooms & carpark, it’s a different story, and the lifts need a spruce up. Breakfast is more than adequate, if a little pricey for the choices. The orange juice was certainly good, and there was a few other flavours. Slices of watermelon & melon, apples & pears, yoghurts, 3 different cold meats & basic cheese. The bacon, sausages, black pudding & potato cakes (I’ve forgotten the right name) were very good, as were the fried eggs. Towels were changed during our stay, and the coffee/tea & biscuits were refilled. One day, however, the room still hadn’t been serviced at 5pm, and we had to call for it to be done. No cleaning was done during the 3 day break, and the covers on the bed were simply pulled up, no attempt to place pillows neatly or arrange the cushions on the bed. Very small carpark which was quite tight to park in, and cost £28 per night.

Older hotel with good refurb on the seafront.

Despite being an older hotel the accommodation was good with functional, well equipped rooms and parking available. The hotel was having new carpet fitted and the results look good. Excellent power shower. No street noise and a fan to help keep the room cool.

The rooms on the website are not the same throughout the property, which is misleading. The rooms in the Mews area do not have access to a lift, making it difficult to carry luggage upstairs. The carpets and toilets were stained. There was poor access to get into the shower, a small space between the wall and the shower screen to step over the side of the bath. There were missing tiles in the bathroom and no electrical points around the bed. The only charging points were across the room near the TV, which was quite far from the bed, therefore viewing the TV was a strain from the bed. We did not see a cleaner in the public areas of the hotel for the three days we were there, which needed a thorough clean. The whole experience was very disappointing. However, the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Service was great but car parking was limited & unfortunately lots of noise in the corridor so didn’t sleep well. Not the hotel’s fault but would be good if they mentioned to guests to be mindful of others.

Was not worth the money I paid. Room was tired and in need of some TLC. Bit of a warren to get to the room carpets and corridors need an upgrade definitely not 4 star standard. Could not get food after 7.50pm, not great after a 6 hour journey. Following morning breakfast was not great no seats in restaurant area. Not great definitely will not return. One plus staff were really friendly.
