Lovely hotel but a few issues

Room was very cold and we tried to adjust the temperature from 22° but it was set by the hotel. The temperature was raised by 1° on our last evening, which was better. The mirror in the room was in the corner and not in a good place to use when drying my hair especially as the socket underneath the mirror had 3 round pins and not a standard british socket. Also, there was no space to dry my hair properly as the wall was too close to the mirror. The mirror needs to be moved to a more accessible place. Unfortunately, we were in a room at the back of the hotel and were kept awake the first night with the loud music from the bars around the corner.

Said they didn't have a booking for us!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our driver attempted to check in at around 10:00 PM, only to be told by the hotel staff that there was no reservation under his name. Despite having the receipt and itinerary number, the receptionist refused to acknowledge the booking. We reached out to Hotels.com via live chat, and your team made efforts to resolve the situation with the hotel. Unfortunately, the receptionist was not only unhelpful but also rude and sarcastic throughout the interaction, further complicating the situation. As a result, our driver, due to legal driving hour restrictions, had no other option but to pay £216 for a last-minute emergency hotel room. Given the circumstances, we expect a full reimbursement of the £216 our driver was forced to pay for the emergency accommodation. Additionally, considering the poor customer service from both the hotel and the lack of resolution despite your team's attempts, we also request appropriate compensation for the inconvenience and distress this has caused.

Would stay again :-)

The reception team were extremely friendly, and promptly got us checked in. The room was really nice, clean & well equipped - I can’t think of anything that wasn’t in the room that we may have wanted. The door to the bathroom was glass and difficult to close - it had to be closed using a bit of force and therefore was loud- which wasn’t great in the middle of the night! As two friends travelling, closing the door was a must so leaving it ajar wasn’t an option. Only a small part though, my overall stay was great. Excellent location too!

Great Stay but Beware of Road Noise!

We were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a larger room upon arrival, which was a lovely touch. However, the room faced the main road, and the noise was quite disruptive, making it difficult to sleep—especially as we had to be up at 5:30 AM for a cheer competition. To make matters worse, we stayed the night the clocks went forward, which didn’t help! If you’re a light sleeper, I’d definitely recommend requesting a room away from the road. On the plus side, the secure car park was a huge bonus. After having my car stolen in Nottingham two years ago, I always feel uneasy parking here each year, but the hotel’s secure parking with internal access provided real peace of mind. Another great touch was the large bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the bathroom—so convenient compared to the usual tiny toiletries!
