Room was nice enough overall. The chair in the room had broken - it wouldn't stay up. Annoying. A pint of beer was £7.50 which I thought was steep. Breakfast was nice and otherwise ok.

Really enjoyed our one night stay in this hotel. It is opposite London City airport so is not a central London hotel but is very well served by public transport, being near to Royal Albert and Prince Regent DLR stations. We travelled to a concert at the London Stadium in Stratford and found it an easy journey (c. 30-40 mins to Stratford station). Our room was surprisingly large and was very clean (as were all the public areas). Room had a decent shower room, a lovely comfy queen bed, a desk, an armchair , a wardrobe, drawers, a safe, tea and coffee making facilities, an ironing board and iron, a TV and lots of plug sockets and a couple of usb points. Great blackout curtains. Also very quiet - no noise from the other rooms or the outside which was great. Our room was at the far side of the hotel. The hotel has a 24 hour bar - great for returning after a night out. Reasonably priced drinks (for London). There seemed to be a Chinese restaurant across the road. The complimentary breakfast was perfectly adequate - we got there at 10 on Saturday morning and there was loads of spaces to sit. Hot food, pastries, bagels, bread for toast, fruit, yoghurt, preserves, coffee machine and fruit juice machine (this appeared slightly watered down but tasted fine). All the staff we encountered were very friendly. We would definitely stay here if we were this way again again.

The hotel was good to stay at, Breakfast was great but the only downside the sofa bed wasn't comfortable at all, so did not sleep well during my stay there it was all sunken down into the mattress.

One of two elevators was broken for the entire duration of my stay, with both being non-functional (meaning a 6 floor hike) at one point. The room was clean and comfortable but my main issue was the air conditioning. The rooms are so dry and suffocating because the windows don’t open. So the only “fresh” air is recycled, dusty, hot and coming through an ac unit that automatically turns itself off at random and resets daily. This was a very uncomfortable aspect for personally and made it hard to sleep.

Expensive for what it was

The hotel location was interesting and was within travelling distance from the DLR AND EXEL. However, as my husband has mobility issues the alleged 2 minutes walk was definitely an underestimation. In fact we had to use taxis to the DLR and Exel. Rooms were well soundproofed from aircraft and roadnoise but unfortunately not so good between rooms. Reception staff very helpful. Food was of good calibre for breakfast and bar meals and again the staff were helpful.

Nice Staff - Shame about the hotel.

Whilst I will say that the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, I'm afraid to say that my stay was not very nice. The bed was absolutely awful and left me in considerable physical pain for the following morning which absolutely ruined my experience around ExCel. As a bit of advice to anyone looking to stay here - there is absolutely nothing around this hotel. Even the staff advise that if you don't want to eat off their bar menu, you should use Uber Eats as there is genuinely nothing within a reasonable distance of the hotel. If you want evening food service - go stay at Double Tree.
