Welcome to Sweet Retreat at Lake Martin! This 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom cabin is in the Eclectic area and is close to some of the most amazing restaurants that the lake has to offer including The Social and the Kowaliga Restaurant! Sweet Retreat gives off the most charming lake cabin vibes with beautiful hardwood flooring throughout, two cozy living spots for gathering, and a sprawling outdoor deck area. Once you walk in to the home off of the screened porch, you will see what we are talking about!

You are greeted with a 6 person dining area to the left with a beautiful view of the lake, a fully stocked kitchen, and the main living space. The main bedroom has a queen bed and an ensuite bathroom with a porcelain clawfoot tub for bathing the kiddos after a long day at the lake. The twin bedroom and the other queen bedroom share a bathroom with a standing shower. Play a round of Scrabble in the game area located by the kitchen when you've had enough fun in the sun. This home also has a kayak and some paddle boards available for use in the laundry room attached to the garage.

Let's talk about the outdoor space! There is a screened in dining porch and an open deck that spans the length of the home with multiple seating areas. There is a gas grill available and another outdoor dining table. Walk down the pier to hitch a boat ride or lounge in the sun with a beverage or two. You may bring your own boat to tie up to the dock.

Great location

Great location. Easy to get to by car and boat. Cute cove area for quiet evenings and calm floating in the water. The place was very comfortable. I should have paid better attention to the description and photo that the master bath only has a tub, no shower, but we made do. The house comes with everything we needed: in the kitchen, bathrooms, games, etc. The washer and dryer are in the garage outside the house, with many water toys to use. The deck and dock are beautiful, which is where we spent most of our time. Bring your own ice and water as the house water tastes like dirt, like many other houses on Lake Martin. We would love to stay again. Thank you!

Sweet Retreat July 2025

The house has a nice view of the lake from a large deck. Easy lake access with a nice dock. The house itself is an older house, well used but pretty well maintained with large windows overlooking the lake. The multiple levels could be a problem for some people. The steps down from the kitchen/sitting area to the living room are non-standard heights and there is another small step down from the side bathroom to the front bedroom. We actually taped a sign on the step to remind us that it was there. Where we really began to have concerns was when we were settling into the kitchen. We found several dish towels and place mats that were stained and appeared as if they hadn't been washed, a baking sheet that appeared to have caked on food and a couple of oven mitts that were filthy. Most of the towels and wash cloths were old, many frayed or with holes in them and many of the white wash cloths had black stains on them. We contacted Heather with Big Fish about the issues. She was very alarmed and arranged to come by first thing the next morning with the head of the cleaning service to look into it. They both agreed that the dish towels, etc. looked horrible but had probably been washed but were so old, worn and stained that they didn't look like it. Heather immediately went out and came back with new dish towels, bath towels, oven mitts, baking sheet, etc. She went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable and we'll definitely consider booking through Big Fish in the future.

4th of July weekend

This property was a perfect spot for our girls’ weekend over the 4th of July holiday. The location in the slough was perfect for floating and easy access to pontoon boat rentals at Anchor Bay Marina. The living space and kitchen met all our needs, the beds were comfy, and the sunset and fireworks views were perfect! We will be back!

Wonderful experience

What a wonderful lake house. Perfect size. Great neighbors. It was in an area with a no wake zone so it was perfect for the kids to swim and play in the water. We could not have asked for a better experience. The house was full of natural light, great porch, wonderful open space.

Lovely House and Location

Sweet Retreat is absolutely charming, with beautiful wood floors and lovely decor throughout. The dock and deck look brand new, and there is plenty of room to spread out. WiFi/AC worked great. It rained for almost our entire stay, but there were board games and a big TV to stay entertained and we enjoyed just sitting and watching the lake out the wide expanse of windows.
