Pass on this one

I booked this hotel for 3 nights. 8/18-8/21. The hotel property by glance looks fine. The lounge furniture is dated and stained. That was the first red flag before getting to the room. The AC did not work on arrival. Maintenance did come almost immediately and clear a blocked line. That was good. The room however is so dated. Between the rug, the old chipped furniture, and the bedroom tv not working, it needs an update. The deal breaker though was a large body fluid stain found in the middle of the bed sheet after pulling the blanket down. That was it. The only positive was the staff, who were immediately accommodating of cancelling the reservation when told of this. I would assume all rooms have issues and we weren’t interested in staying in another room after this. There were plenty of other hotels in the area, and we gladly found another. Save your trouble and scroll right past this one.

First of all, I booked a handicap room with a roll-in shower for my husband, who is a new amputee. I have had to do this several times in the last month and every hotel we have stayed at has a bench in their roll-in showers so did not think anything of booking that type of room at your facility. When I get in the room and learn there is no bench I go to the front desk and explain the issue and ask for a chair. Interestingly enough neither of the ladies knows where the chairs are kept to get me one and housekeeping was gone. Also no extra towels are available either. So 3 people in our room and we are a towel short. We go to make up the pull out coach bed and there is no bedding at all for it. So we call down to the front desk and a very nice gentleman answers the phone and says he will bring up the bedding. It did take some time but we got it. When I saw him I explained our issue with the shower bench and lack of towels. He said Oh, I can find you a shower bench. Just give me a few minutes. Within 5 minutes, I had the shower chair and more towels. He also mentioned that neither of the ladies said anything about me needing the shower chair, which means to me that I would not have gotten it in the morning like they promised. That was laziness on their part is all.

The room was spacious and clean. However, the TV at front was not working, bathroom without towels just hand towels, room clean but deteriorate or rusted.I like the hotel looks great (spacious and comfortable). Costumer service needs to improve.

Room was not in good shape. There was crud and grease spots on drapes. There were easily 30-50 kids running through the halls on every floor. The kids were very loud throughout the evening, as late as 11 pm. Kids were jumping in and out of elevators or holding them open to call in unassigned friends as we were trying to make it into and or out of our room.

The hotel was comfortable for us and suited our needs. It is an older property and shows signs of wear but not obviously so. Don’t know if DoubleTree still does the chocolate chip cookie at check-in, guessing they don’t as we weren’t offered and we didn’t catch any of the cookie smells either.
